The Department of Anaesthesiology at JPNATC, AIIMS is a full fledged tertiary care provider to the accident victims. The department was started in December 2006 with two faculty members and twenty Senior Residents. Since then the Dept. has provided quality anaesthesia care to more than 5000 surgeries of various disciplines. With state of art ventilators and monitoring equipments and with excellent interdepartmental coordination “trauma anaesthesia” has reached new heights. The Dept. is involved in wide range of activities namely:

• Managing Accident and Emergency services in Casualty
• Managing 4 routine OTs involving Neurosurgery, Surgery and Orthopaedics.
• Managing PACU
• Managing surgical and Neurosurgical ICUs
• Providing anaesthesia care to patients posted for MRI and CT scan
• Providing anaesthesia care for “Organ Harvesting” in brain dead patients
• Conducting regular BLS courses for Delhi police and citizens of Delhi
• Conducting “Hands On” training in Airway Management for doctors and paramedics.

With the devotion and endeavour to provide support to the ailing accident victims, the department is marching towards a bright future.

Our Vision: To innovate, deliver and lead the practice of Trauma anesthesia and pain management. The Dept. plans to introduce ACLS and ATLS courses in near future. The department also plans to deliver world class health services for airlifting patients from periphery to our centre.
